Immediately I'm remembering the season - we celebrate the "newborn king". What's this dissection tray, where what looks like a pregnant woodchuck's pinned down and actually as nobly expressioned as any might hope for? Is this an indigenous madonna, and the critter part of sacrificial rite ...? I think I may be too tired to do this. posted by: christine@swank (reply) post date: 12.12.06 (9:46 pm) My first thought upon seeing the rodent was, three blind mice. I too enjoy the main figure's face, but the eyes are disconcerting - almost cynical. Is he the blind one? Or are we? Or, for that matter, is science? Just goes to show how our imagination takes us away. posted by: lindy (reply) post date: 12.14.06 (12:03 pm) The little tike makes me very sad. I don't like it when little ones are scared or in pain. posted by: thejongleur (reply) post date: 12.14.06 (3:26 pm) Reply to: akelso hmm. The cheapest of sacrificial rites, perhaps. I saw a woman wearing a coat. I didn't like her very much. ams posted by: thejongleur (reply) post date: 12.14.06 (3:27 pm) Reply to: Lezah *smile* I like that a great deal. Thank you. ams posted by: thejongleur (reply) post date: 12.14.06 (3:28 pm) Reply to: lindy There's something of us there, no? They can't tell us about it, but we know. Thank you, ams posted by: akelso (reply) post date: 12.15.06 (5:08 am) Reply to: thejongleur "There's something of us there, no? They can't tell us about it, but we know." I wonder if what troubles us about the woman, is that your statements seem to apply horribly to both of this piece's subjects? The holocaust museum kept me awake at night, realizing that the german nation (france, italy ...) during the forties was possibly inhabited by you and me (sorry for that grammar) - victims and oppressors, one and the same, ultimately. posted by: girlpower (reply) post date: 01.18.07 (11:17 pm) I like this picture. What does it stand for? posted by: thejongleur (reply) post date: 01.23.07 (5:47 am) Reply to: girlpower It ties in rather with the picture four posts down. Thank you for being curious.
