As tough as it is to look away from the seemingly disembodied human head.. I'm really drawn to the feather at the base.. I swear, it looks like a real feather laying atop your drawing.. perhaps there's a story of a pillow fight begging to be told. :)

I'm amazed by your attention to the subtleness in art!!

Is that head disembodied? - Guess so.

Is it also Robert Gates tooth-suckling at the breast of some Bush-like chimp? I s'pose if so, that chimp's done the best it knows, swaddling the baby-bobbie in banana leaves, with a *blindfold*? Or is the baby-bobbie some feathered orphan??

Now my gaze is fascinated with the longest toes ...

Yikes what seems so familiar becomes really quite strange.

The background vegetable-flowers seem to suggest the protein-nerve tangles of alzheimers dementia. What's my name again?

haha, It's an A.D.D. thing.. more like blind stumbling, but TheJongleur is ever so indulgent. :) I'm not sure if the head is disembodied or not, but it's fun to imagine. I think you may be on to something. Andrew's art seems to hit right in the gut on political issues on both sides of the big pond. :)

Once again I find myself thinking of the drawing in a new way after reading your interpretation. I never imagined the head as dismembered until you said it. Now, instead of imagining the wee man as being nursed or rocked by the ape, I see only the head, being dropped into a sack. Amazing. It may be that neither interpretation is what ams intended, but gosh, I love this game of trying to work the puzzle out!

Andrea, this is brilliant!

To me, there’s something grotesquely funny about the whole thing. The farcical image is compounded by the moodiness of the color, I feel. If it is a political commentary, as you said, than I see it as a statement on some pretty dark times. Either way, I like thinking about it, reading your thoughts and trying to puzzle it all out.

The art and the people who come here to talk about it make this one of my favorite places.

Hee hee.. I let go of the idea of *ever* getting what ams intended in these fantastic drawings of his, probably about the time the goat's head landed on a stick. But I figure an artist knows that when he releases his work into the public, it's no longer just his.. it's everyone's as they see it. It is terribly fun to imagine things here. :)

Gosh... I remember talking about that "goat on a stick" forever! We were full of theories, weren't we? I'm amazed at how many lovely conversations were sparked here. *smile*

Where does one go in the archives to view a goat's head on a stick??

Oh, yah - and the days grow darker by the hour (certainly until 12/21-or22.)

Forgive me, and the jongleur's work is ever the conjured rorschach - for me the image of a blindfolded Gates-chewing-Bush's-teat projects pain for everyone in the house of this global adventure. Heaven help us all!

March 18th, 2005! One goat on a stick, as ordered. If you haven't already done so, Andrea, I highly recommend heading to ams' first posts and slowly scrolling your way through each month. It's a mind boggling journey, even for folks who've been watching it as it unfolds.

*waves at Andrew* Sorry to speak of you as if you aren't here.. are you here? *tee hee hee*

With mankinds' (in particular scientists') insistence on proving that we are the superior being, it appears the primate is merely placating a blinded 'superior' as if to say, 'Yes, yes, think what you want. Only thing separating us is the spoken language because you know I have a thumb'. LOL
