It just made sense to me... sort of summed up a large part of how I interpreted the image. That the figure's back is turned to "the divine" and the mouth is covered, despite remaining attached also speaks volumes, as does the fact that the figure is kneeling. ;) posted by: juniperflux (reply) post date: 10.21.06 (5:24 am) *smile* There's something about this discussion, and indeed this particular post, that appeals to the academic in me. I love coming here. I love looking at whatever bits of genius have lately been pinned upon the wall. I love losing myself in the image and then in all the various interpretations that others so bravely hold up just beneath it. But today what I love most is just how often I find myself, several minutes later, still swimming happily in all the thought, emotion and humanity that seems drawn, like metal shavings in a 5th grade science experiment, to this very spot. In an increasingly fragmented world art, *your* art, becomes something of a connective thread and I simply cannot overstate how inspiring and important that is. I'm so glad that you're posting frequently. (Three in three days, baby). I realize that inspiration doesn't always come in such great floods, but for however long it lasts, I'm drinking it up. jennifer posted by: 69whisper (reply) post date: 10.21.06 (2:37 pm) reverse exodus posted by: fractalmom (reply) post date: 10.21.06 (3:20 pm) Reply to: Cutter OMG cutter, I hope you weren't offended??? Please. No. and well, yes, sort of you were quoting dante. sorry if i offended. dawn posted by: Cutter (reply) post date: 10.21.06 (6:19 pm) Reply to: fractalmom I wasn't really offended. You barely know me, after all. ;) The quote wasn't intentional, but if it is the case that those words were once written by Dante, then it's all good. I can think of many other writers I'd actually mind unintentionally echoing. posted by: thejongleur (reply) post date: 10.25.06 (4:16 pm) Reply to: fractalmom *nods* I don't like to shout too loud, but I try to be understood. ams posted by: thejongleur (reply) post date: 10.25.06 (4:17 pm) Reply to: 69whisper *smile* I like this two-word-story theme.
