Pun intended... it's unnerving the way you look at things. And yet... oddly comforting.

Is that drawn by you, or...from else where?

Hmm..the nose seems out of place somewhat... o.0

Hmmm. I can't quite get a grasp on that rather fascinating nose. Can you? My mind is playing tricks on me every time I study it. Between the angle of the pose and the long flown-away detail between that all-seeing eye and nose really create a no mans land where anything goes, I think.

I think the entire face is out of place, including the part I can't see. Sometimes, that is a good thing. :)

As I was telling Jennifer last night... who ever this is... they have rather fascinating eyebrows or at least one. In fact, I'm rather taken with it.

This is more disconcerting than walking back and forth in front of a news person on tv, watching their eyes follow you...

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. Is this one yours? :)

Ah, there you are.

*insert BIG smile here*

As others, I'm sure will attest, it's nearly impossible to stare for very long at this face, (emerging from shadow), without beginning the task of filling in the blanks of those features that are still hidden from the eye: the worry lines on the forehead, the curve of the mouth framed by a strong chin, the blush of round cheeks and the anchor of thick, dark hair.

As I study this face, my imaginings lead me to a room at dawn, my vision blurred with the combination of sleeping and waking. Rolling over, I see this face from beneath the flutter of eyelashes... the rest of it obstructed by pillows and the light spilling in from an open window. Instead of straining, all blinky in the shock of morning, to make out the rest of the picture, I imagine simply smiling in the delight inherent in no longer needing to fill in the blanks and in knowing that, at last, there's a watchful eye next to me... watching me sleep.

I have always struggled with looking at things that may look back at me.

I've improved, I think.. but windows to the soul are difficult things to catch.

I appreciate the company.

Nights keep passing..
And I need to start watching over her, and have her watch over me.

That was rather beautiful, Jennifer.
