Hmm. I found myself drawing absent mindedly this afternoon, while I wrote a few words down that were rattling around in my head. I thought of you and wondered how you were.

L,

I'm ok, thank you.
People being further away than they should be breaks me a little.. but it'll be ok, right?

Thank you for wondering.

Yes, it'll be okay. Better than okay from what I can tell. I'm glad you are doing alright. You just saved your self from being bombarded with an L-style tmail. :)

Take care.

I've heard that about you. I miss Juni. Tell her for me please.

Now don't write back or I'll keep going and you'll be all politeness and borderline chatty.

*snicker snicker
I'll drop you a novel for entertainment and chuckles.

Hmmm. I rather like stumbling in upon this conversation. I don't think I have to explain why. :)

Interesting to think that there's a defense against the infamous epic lindy tmail. *wink*

I've studied this little guy's features for awhile now and I simply cannot pick my favorite bit. Currently, I'm rather enamoured by his bald-albino brother who's clearly been sent to the corner for some unimaginable crime. There are quite a few stories here... not the least of which involve a tattered hat box kept under the bed, filled with napkins and scraps of paper. Each one a scribbled treasure passed across the table. :)

Hey! I thought that epic business was born while *you* were getting your ramble on! Hahahahahaaa. I see how it is! ;)

(I realize my ramble resembles a river)

Your comment to ams made me laugh aloud. You managed to articulate what I was thinking too. My eyes were drawn to the little bald tike who didn't quite make center stage. I love the fact that he made it in to the picture. A peek into the artists first attempt perhaps? My favorite part is what appears to be a scruffy hat, resting on the head of our center stage star. If it's not a hat, don't tell me, as it looks like it has been resting comfortably, fitting snuggly for years. I'd like to wear that hat.

Now isn't that interesting. Where juni sees a bird in the corner who's banished, and lindy sees a prelimainary sketch, I see a bird *on his way in*, with eyes lowered in deference to the bird in the centre who is clearly the kingpin (easily recognisable due to his very flash hat).

I do wish I had a clearer idea of what you're giving away with this one though tJ. At present I am still in the dark.

What *I* get is that the small bird in the corner is the signature of the artist. In this instance, that would indicate to me that The Jongleur is indeed a bird. That instead of signing his art "The Jongleur" he signs it as The Bird. But what do I know.

First off... I like the comparison of your rambles to rivers. I've always been fond of rivers.. the way they cut themselves through seemingly solid and immoveable masses... the way their currents are dependable yet not always predictable… the way they shimmer with all the life within them. Yes… rivers. An apt comparison, I think.

Secondly… I too very much like the notion of the little hat. I’ve gone back and forth in my convictions regarding his chapeau/coiffeur. Of course, it might very well be that he’s been saddled with a rather shapeless muskrat on his head for all I know, but I very much like wondering about it.

And finally, as for e(pic) mails… as with all things, once again I find myself in a constant state of just trying to keep up with you, dear.

*wink*

It’s funny, BB, but when I read your comment, it occurred to me that often times, TheJongleur’s drawings act as rather inconspicuous rorschach tests of sorts. I know I’ve mentioned before how much joy I relish in reading what everyone else sees in what he puts here. Sometimes, as with this one, I hadn’t considered the alternatives to what *I* saw.

I know you don’t believe it, but more often than not, I’m convinced there are no “right answers” here. I know you’re always searching for the hidden code, but in most cases, (although I certainly do not pretend to speak for our host), I believe the true meaning behind the piece is really all in the eye of the beholder, and I rather like thinking about what our responses to these little drawings say about each of us. Sometimes, I think I learn more about the commenters (and maybe even myself) than I do about the art.

All in all, it’s good stuff. And I very much liked your take on our fine-feathered friend here.

Even though this question wasn't directed at me, I feel compelled to answer.

It will be ok. It will.

What's this *smile* business of late, it's quite funny. Are you getting your smile on, Juni? And why is it that your smile reminds me of your shrug? hmm.

A rambling river. Sounds like a babbling brook, all bloated with self importance. That fits me about as well as the little hat on our little friend. :)

Ha, keeping up with me... rubbish. There are times I feel good and lapped, as in you fun circles around me on occassion.

I hear, when it comes to getting your ramble on... you might as well be the Niagara. *snicker snicker - aren't I just a meanie.

*winkety winkety wink*

As for the hat, I'm certain you could pull it off, L.

Dear Sir,

We regret to inform you that the part you auditioned for, Merpert the Dazzler, has been filled. We were pleasantly surprised at the large turnout for 'You Across the Table' and certainly, choosing a finalist proved difficult, given the vast amount of talent represented at this audition.

Representatives will be in touch with interested and qualified candidates to discuss the possibilities of other roles opening up for the film. As it stands, we still need to cast for several of the sparkling stars and swooping letters, as well as the occassional swirl. Upon reviewing your tape, we feel you may be suited for one of these roles.

We've kept your audition tape on file. Please contact us immediately and let us know which role interests you.

Sincerely,
Sims FitzSimms

Dear Mr. FitzSimms,

Please consider this my letter of interest in reference to the additional roles opening up for 'You Across the Table.' While I am most certainly open to playing a role that your expertise dictates is appropriate for someone of my particular talent, I most humbly submit my request to portray the 'Y' in 'myself' as it is clearly a role I can do justice, given my familiarity with this particular letter.

I have lived under a similar 'Y' my entire life and have not only grown comfortable with 'Y' and it's behaviors, but also I have come to feel a kinship with this letter. I understand the way it sits in relation to other letters and my 'Y' has confided in me as to the great mystery surrounding the ever-popular swoop of its tail. This is a role I am close to in many ways. I will make an excellent 'Y' for your film.

I look forward to your response and am eager to see 'You Across the Table' become a success.

Yours,
The Quiet One
