seems to be the case for a lot of us lately.

In times of tragedy especially, those of us on the outside, whose wounds are harder to see, often find it difficult to express the helplessness we feel… the desire to do something when nothing can be done. The agony of unspent energy. The shame of looking in the mirror. The paradox of punches thrown in the air.

For all of us who are unsure of what to do with our hands right now… thank you for pointing the way.

I feel this way a lot, actually.

tJ, I find this one very moving. I like it a lot. To offer all you have, no matter how small and insignificant, is a far bigger step than someone who has a lot, offering only some of what they have.

Especially because of the "Keeping on" sign, this drawing takes me to London. Was that your intention, or have a I brought that in here with me?

Sometimes that's all we need.

These are strange times, as you know, and the world can be pretty crap..
So thank you for talking to me, Jennifer.

Both, I imagine.

It was my intention.. but I'd say you brought it in here with you.

For a long time now, you've helped me make sense of things. I continue to be grateful.

I began writing a story that played out in my head. A story of pain and... more pain.

Before I finished it, someone knocked on my door and asked me to look at something they had jotted down.

What I read had captured my feelings so implicitly that I realized she had written my story for me. The names of the characters were different. The plot was different as well. But in the end, I sat there feeling the way I'd felt when my own story had finished playing out in my mind's eye. I wiped my story clean and sat there, content in the beauty of my friend's expression, realizing all that needed to be said had been.

The story was about a young woman named Abra. And it was clearly written by someone who feels the pain of the world.

I do. There are many times when I see people faced with situations in which they are helpless. There's not much I can do to fix it (despite how badly I want to), except sit quietly and help someone cry, or offer a hand to pick them up & dust them off...it's all I have.

*blushes*

You flatter me, my friend. Although I don't speak for him, I imagine our host would agree that having people like you comment on the things we create is what makes the process complete. I love how collaborative all of this is... and I love having you in the mix.

*raises glass in a toast to friendship and creative inspiration*

Cheers!
