All those moons ago, when my eyes blurred and wandered from the image of our president rambling in monotone about the ‘anguish’ of sending sons and daughters to war, I looked around the room and suddenly every boy I grew up with, every son and brother gathered ‘round the television that night at Mario’s looked just like this little guy: Naked.

And I knew their little helmets and guns wouldn’t protect them.

~~~~~~~~~~
Isn't it funny** how some things never change?
**And by funny, of course I mean, horrifying and deeply, deeply sad.
